AIRCRAFT BRIEF

The Cirrus SR22 entered service in 2001 and rapidly became the best-selling general aviation aircraft of the 21st century. Its defining feature is the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) - a ballistic parachute that can lower the entire aircraft safely after a catastrophic failure. Powered by a 310 hp Continental IO-550-N engine and featuring the Garmin Perspective (G1000) avionics suite, the SR22 offers near-turboprop performance in a composite airframe. It has saved over 200 lives through CAPS activations since its introduction.
