How to use FLIGHT Checklist
From your first checklist to hands-free voice startup and printed kneeboard cards - everything explained.
Getting Started
Pick your simulator
Choose MSFS 2024, DCS World, X-Plane 12 or Falcon BMS from the home screen.
Select an aircraft
Browse the fleet page or press Cmd+K to search by name.
Work through the steps
Tap or click each step to confirm it. The next step highlights automatically so you never lose your place.
Progress is saved
Your progress is stored in the browser. Close the tab and come back - you pick up exactly where you left off.
Aircraft Tabs
Everything for one aircraft sits behind a row of tabs at the top of its page.
CHECKLIST
The interactive startup flow, phase by phase, from cold and dark to taxi.
KNEEBOARD
Printable cards you can save as a PDF or print for your leg board.
EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
Memory items for failures in flight. Shown when the aircraft has them.
QUICK REFERENCE
The numbers - speeds, power, limits. Shown when the aircraft has them.
Checklist Toolbar
SETTINGS
Holds the three checklist toggles below. One button keeps the toolbar clear while you fly.
AUTO-SCROLL
In the Settings menu. Scrolls the page to keep the active step in view as you work down the checklist.
GSX
In the Settings menu, MSFS 2024 only. Adds GSX Pro ground service steps - GPU, pushback, and fuelling.
VOICE
In the Settings menu. Reads each step aloud and listens for "check" to advance. Chrome or Edge. Hover it to pick a microphone.
RESET
Clears every completed step and the saved progress, back to the first step.
FAVORITE
Stars the aircraft so it appears on the home page for next time.
FOCUS MODE
Strips the page back to the checklist alone - see Focus Mode below.
Looking for the print button? Printing now lives on the Kneeboard tab, which gives you proper cards and a PDF instead of a printout of the screen.
Printable Kneeboard Cards
The Kneeboard tab turns any checklist into a set of small cards sized for a leg board. What you see on screen is exactly what comes out of the printer - the cards are laid out and paginated for real, not estimated.
Step by step
Open an aircraft and go to the Kneeboard tab.
Choose which card set you want: Startup · Quick Reference · Emergency
Pick your paper: 5 x 8 kneeboard · A5 · Letter · A4
On the startup set, tick only the phases you want on the cards.
Save as PDF for a file you keep, or Print cards to go straight to the printer.
Three separate sets
One card set at a time, not one long stack - you swap cards between phases of flight, so the startup, the numbers and the emergency items stay apart.
Save as PDF
A real file you can keep, reprint, or read on a tablet. The text stays sharp however far you zoom, and it works with no connection.
Printing tip
In the print dialog keep the scale at 100% and turn margins off. The cards already carry their own margin.
What is on a card
One line per step - the action and what it should read. Notes and warnings stay on the interactive checklist, where there is room for them.
Your Own Checklists
Build checklists for anything the app does not cover - an add-on nobody has written up, a training flight, your own cold and dark routine. Find them under My Checklists.
Three ways to start
From scratch, by forking a built-in aircraft to edit, or by importing a file you already have.
Import a file
JSON, CSV or Excel. Download the example files if you want to see the layout first - a spreadsheet of steps is enough.
Folders and search
Group checklists by aircraft, sim or trip. Drag one onto a folder to file it, or use Move to folder. Search finds anything by name.
Run them like the rest
Same tap-through flow, saved progress, voice mode and kneeboard cards as the built-in aircraft.
Cards for your own
Hit KNEEBOARD while running one, or pick Printable kneeboard from its menu in the list.
Back them up
Export one as a file, or all of them at once as a zip of spreadsheets. Your checklists live in this browser only, so an export is how you move them to another device.
Voice Mode
Voice mode lets you run through a checklist entirely hands-free. The app reads each step aloud and advances automatically when you say the trigger word.
Step by step
Open any aircraft checklist.
Open SETTINGS in the toolbar and turn Voice on.
Allow microphone access when prompted.
The app reads the first step aloud.
Complete the step, then say: check or checked
The next step is read aloud automatically.
Phase transitions are announced: Phase 2 - Engine Start
When finished: Checklist complete.
Trigger words
Say check or checked. Only these exact words trigger an advance - ATC calls and normal speech are ignored.
Browser
Best on Chrome or Edge. Safari and Firefox on iOS/iPadOS may also work (all iOS browsers run on WebKit). Brave and Firefox desktop are not supported.
Microphone
Hover the VOICE button while enabled to pick from available microphones. Select the one closest to you.
Not working?
Check Chrome has mic permission (lock icon in address bar). Speak clearly at normal volume. Brave users must switch to Chrome.
Focus / Streamer Mode
Focus mode strips an aircraft page down to the tabs, the toolbar and the checklist itself - no navigation, no sidebars, no page furniture. It is built for stream captures and for a checklist sitting on a second monitor next to the sim.
Press F on any aircraft page, or use the gamepad button in the toolbar. A slim bar across the top shows it is on, with a Turn off link whenever you want the rest of the page back.
It stays on as you move between aircraft until you turn it off.
Global Search
Press Cmd+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows from any page to open search.
Type an aircraft name or abbreviation. Use arrow keys to navigate, Enter to open, Escape to close.
You can also tap the search icon in the navigation bar.
Favorites
Click the star icon on any aircraft card, or in the checklist toolbar, to save it as a favorite. Favorites appear in a carousel on the home screen for instant access.
Your own checklists can be starred too, from the menu on their row.
Stored locally in the browser - no account needed. Persists between sessions on the same device.
Emergency Procedures
Aircraft with emergency procedures get an Emergency Procedures tab alongside the checklist.
Formatted for fast reading under pressure - bold headings, short steps. Covers engine fire, hydraulic failure, electrical loss, and more.
They print too: pick the Emergency card set on the Kneeboard tab and keep the memory items on your leg board.
Quick Reference Cards
V-speeds, power settings, flap schedules, fuel burn, and engine limits - all on one card.
Open the Quick Reference tab on any aircraft that has one, or print it as a card from the Kneeboard tab.
Appearance & Accessibility
Everything here lives on the Settings page, reached from the bottom of the sidebar. Changes apply straight away and are remembered on this device.
THEME
Light, dark, or follow your system. Dark is built for flying at night with the lights down.
CONTRAST
A high contrast option for both light and dark, pushing text and borders further apart.
TEXT SIZE
Default or large. Useful when the checklist is across the room on a second screen.
APP FONT
The default typeface, your system font, or Atkinson Hyperlegible - designed for low vision.
Steps are sized for touch - a 44px minimum tap target throughout, so the app works on a phone propped next to the sim.
Works Offline
Once you have opened a checklist, it keeps working without a connection - handy on a flight, a train, or a network that drops out mid-startup.
Open the aircraft you want before you lose signal. Pages you have never visited cannot be shown offline, and you get a short offline notice instead.
Your own checklists always work offline: they live in your browser rather than on a server. Kneeboard PDFs export offline too.
You can also install the app from your browser menu - Add to Home Screen on a phone or tablet, Install on desktop - and it opens in its own window.
Pilot Tools
21 calculators and planners sit under Tools, grouped into weather, performance, navigation, planning and conversion.
Among them: a METAR and TAF decoder, takeoff and landing distances, weight and balance, top of descent, crosswind components, fuel planning, a route planner on a map, and a full-screen flight map with airports and navaids.
There is also an Airport Charts page for finding charts for any airport.

FLIGHT Checklist works in any modern browser. Voice mode requires Web Speech API support and microphone access.
