AIRCRAFT BRIEF

The Turbo Arrow replaced the Arrow's Lycoming with a turbocharged 200 hp Continental TSIO-360, lifting the service ceiling to 20,000 ft and holding near sea-level power well into the teens. The Turbo Arrow III kept the conventional tail, while the 1979 Turbo Arrow IV adopted the distinctive T-tail that trades low-speed elevator authority for reduced tailplane buffet in cruise. Its fixed-wastegate turbocharger gives the pilot full manual control of manifold pressure, and full responsibility for avoiding an overboost.
