AIRCRAFT BRIEF
The Cessna 208 Caravan first flew on December 9, 1982, and entered FAA-certified production in 1984 as a rugged single-engine utility turboprop built for austere operations. Powered by the Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A-114A delivering 675 shp, it became the backbone of bush flying, cargo, skydiving, and regional feeder operations worldwide. Its high-wing design with optional floats or skis made it uniquely versatile, and it remains in continuous production with over 2,600 delivered to operators in more than 100 countries.
