Engine Fire or Engine Severe Damage or Separation
Immediate actions · 7 steps
- 1Autothrottle (if engaged)DISENGAGE

- 3Engine Start Lever (affected engine)CONFIRM, CUTOFF
- 4Engine Fire Switch (affected engine)CONFIRM, PULL (press the override and pull to unlock it manually)
- 5If the engine fire switch or ENG OVERHEAT light is illuminated: Engine Fire SwitchROTATE TO THE STOP AND HOLD FOR 1 SECOND
- 6If after 30 sec the engine fire switch or ENG OVERHEAT light stays illuminated: Engine Fire SwitchROTATE TO THE OTHER STOP AND HOLD FOR 1 SECOND
- 7Then go to QRH Ch. 8 ENGINE FIRE or Engine Severe Damage or Separation checklist
Cabin Altitude Warning or Rapid Depressurization

- 3Pressurization Mode SelectorMAN
- 4Outflow VALVE SwitchHOLD IN CLOSE UNTIL THE OUTFLOW VALVE INDICATION SHOWS FULLY CLOSED
- 5If cabin altitude is uncontrollable: Passenger SignsON, PASS OXYGEN Switch - ON, then go to the Emergency Descent checklist
- 6If cabin altitude is controllable: continue manual operation to maintain correct cabin altitude; at or below 10,000 ft cabin altitude the oxygen masks may be removed
- 7Then go to QRH Ch. 2 CABIN ALTITUDE WARNING or Rapid Depressurization checklist
Emergency Descent
Immediate actions · 11 steps
- 1Flight Attendants and ATCADVISE OF THE EMERGENCY DESCENT

- 3Without delay, descend to the lowest safe altitude or 10,000 ft, whichever is higher
- 4ENGINE START Switches (both)CONT
- 5Thrust Levers (both)REDUCE THRUST TO MINIMUM OR AS NEEDED FOR ANTI-ICE
- 6SpeedbrakeFLIGHT DETENT (if structural integrity is in doubt, limit speed as much as possible and avoid high maneuvering loads)

- 8When approaching the level off altitude: smoothly lower the SPEED BRAKE lever to the DOWN detent, level off, add thrust and stabilize

Runaway Stabilizer

- 1Control ColumnHOLD FIRMLY

- 3Control aircraft pitch attitude manually with the control column and main electric trim as needed
- 4Autothrottle (if engaged)DISENGAGE (do not re-engage)
- 5If the runaway continues after the autopilot is disengaged: STAB TRIM CUTOUT Switches (both)CUTOUT
- 6If the runaway continues: Stabilizer Trim WheelGRASP AND HOLD
- 7StabilizerTRIM MANUALLY, anticipate trim requirements

Loss of Thrust on Both Engines
Immediate actions · 7 steps
- 1ENGINE START Switches (both)FLT
- 2Engine Start Levers (both)CUTOFF
- 3When EGT decreases: Engine Start Levers (both)IDLE DETENT
- 4If EGT reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 sec: Engine Start Lever (affected engine)CONFIRM, CUTOFF, THEN IDLE DETENT
- 5If EGT again reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 sec, repeat as needed
- 6Note: if the aircraft reverts to standby power there are no MMO / VMO protections
