Single Engine Emergency Shutdown (P2+ FM 3.4.6)

    ENG MAIN switch (affected engine)IDLE, check indications, then OFF

    If there is an indication that the engine is still runningturn the respective TWIST GRIP to the minimum fuel stop, verify the correct engine, then shut off

    Before an inflight single engine emergency shutdown, determine if the situation will allow for OEI flight
  4. 4
    Make certain the controls of the affected engine are selected and the collective lever is adjusted to maintain the normal engine within OEI limits
  5. 5
    Leave the FADEC switch ONswitching it off will raise a FADEC MINR caution on the remaining engine due to missing parameter redundancy
  6. 6
    Bleed air heating switches off automatically; it may be re-engaged with the heater switch at EMER depending on the power margin

    If the nose direction changes from left to right above 40 ktincrease airspeed, abort the approach, climb to sufficient height and perform an autorotation

    In autorotation zero sideslip can be expected at about 60 to 70 kt
  8. 8
    In the final phase of the flare the helicopter can yaw left due to friction effects
